I love being a stay at a home mom. Homemaking, mostly, brings me joy. Sometimes, I admit I’m not as grateful as I should be for the opportunity to scrub my family’s toilets. As I’ve worked to strengthen my homemaking muscles, I’ve found a few tips and tricks for making chores less tedious and more joyful.

Today, I’m talking about how to make toilet cleaning more fun!

I know, right? You’re probably thinking that there is absolutely no way to get your toilet as clean as you can possibly get it, as well as making it more enjoyable in the process. It’s seemingly unheard of. But when you think about it in more detail, it’s actually not. Now, what I’m about to present to you will work with both your toilets at home, and the ones in your workplace. Although, most offices have made the lifesaving decision of hiring a cleaning service like to come in and clean the building for them which is what I’d do if I wasn’t a stay at home mom, (but don’t get me wrong, I have thought about doing the same thing). That was until I came across this new and exciting way to clean your toilet.

    So, grab yourself some

I picked mine up at my local Kroger, and took advantage of the coupon on the front of the box. $2.00 came off at check out! When it comes to cleaning toilets, I’m a big fan of disposable things. The toilet is disgusting, especially in a house of boys, so I want to be able to clean my toilet and toss out the products I use for it.

1. Put on some comfy clothes! I like to throw on some comfortable clothes before I begin my cleaning process. I know longer have to worry about ruining my clothes with bleach when I clean, because this wand uses a bleach alternative. Plus, it means that I don’t have to worry about the chemicals getting into my eyes or the like. I know one friend who worked as a cleaner had to use an eye wash (Storemasta has some examples) to help when this happened to her and it is an awful thing to go through. Get some clothes you feel confident in, and you’ll find yourself cleaning the toilet with zeal!

2. Check the toilet over It’s a good idea to give the toilet a cursory check before cleaning it, to make sure there are no problems with it. For example, check that the chain works and that you don’t have to replace a leaking toilet cistern. It’s best to do this every time you clean the toilet, as it’s much better to spot it early, rather than finding out through a leak in your ceiling! Once you’ve checked it’s in working order, you can begin cleaning.

3. Crank an audiobook or some rockin’ music. Get some background noise going. I prefer audiobooks while I clean, I love to read. So, listening to a book feels like a reward, an indulgence. Some people prefer music, it energizes them. If that is you, get your music going and get to work. The Scotch-Brite® Disposable Toilet Scrubber majorly simplifies the process of cleaning the toilet. The design of the brush reaches beneath the rim to remove nastiness and the pumice scrubs away rust and hard water stains. It is the Scotch-Brite® scrubbing power consumers have trusted for years! DSC_2005 DSC_2010 DSC_2012After dancing around the toilet, shining it up- you remove the refill from the wand and dispose of it. Stand by and admire your handy work. Treat yourself to some cake and junky television. You are a cleaning machine!! DSC_2014 DSC_2016Remember the people who will sit on this toilet. How valuable your handy work is. How meaningful this simple act of service is. The guests who will enter your home, the friends you’ll host, and the children who will learn to go potty on this very toilet! It is pretty hard to feel resentful of the mundane when you think about it that way, huh? It might seem obvious but keeping your toilet clean is so important! Especially if you regularly host parties for example. Which reminds me, if you are in the process of planning a party or any other type of outdoor event, you might want to consider hiring a portable toilet from somewhere similar to the letloos website. Portable toilets are vital if ever you need to accommodate a large number of guests after all as you do not want to keep people waiting. Anyway, I hope these tips make it easier for you to find joy in your homemaking journey!! To see some other useful tips from fellow bloggers Head over here!
