Star Wars Fun At Disney World! (and at home!!)

April 26, 2018

Disclosure:  We were invited to Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, and were given a heavily discounted rate to fully experience all Disney has to offer!  All opinions expressed are my own.

My boys are five and three, and over the last few months they have become just absolutely Star Wars obsessed!  My husband is a big Star Wars fan, so it’s been really cool to watch them bond over their favorite characters.  My husband looks so proud when he hears our oldest son discuss the plots of his favorite Star Wars films. They are even reading Star Wars books right now, and they asked for Star Wars LEGO bricks for Christmas. So, I could not wait to take them to Disney World in February and let them see their favorite characters brought to life.  I think this is easily one of the best parts about Disney magic.  You will have a treasured character in every season of your life.

I want to dive deeper into helping you plan for your future Disney adventures, so I’m talking about how you can do more Star Wars at home and at Disney World!

Hit the library-  If you have a budding Star Wars fan, I strongly encourage you to hit the library for classic films and great books.  I like to let my kids borrow books until we see which ones they are really intrigued by before purchasing. I have been so astounded by the mix of educational and entertaining stories drawn from our favorite Star Wars characters!

The Internet Just Needs To Search For “Star Wars Free Printables.” There are so many great printables out there, usually created by teachers to help with Math and/or reading.

Plan a Trip To Disney World (or a Disney Cruise for Star Wars Days at Sea)

The Star Wars Days at Sea is definitely a bucket list item for our family after learning more about these special days.  Disney Cruise is something I cannot adequately convey to you, it is amazing.  I urge you to incorporate a Disney Cruise into your budget and go on one, because it was a blissful family experience.  (more on that in a different post!) Otherwise, start planning a trip to Disney World, heavy on the Hollywood Studios!  A new experience called Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is coming to Disney World and Disneyland in 2019!  I have a few sneak peek photos to show you below, but its a Star Wars hotel where characters and stories come to life for guests!  We will be able to dress like our favorite characters, and each room will have a space view!  Photo Credit: Photographer John Diefenbach

Go all out at Hollywood Studios! If you or your kids are really into Star Wars, Hollywood Studios is where you want to visit.  As soon as you enter the park, sign up for Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple.   This is a free opportunity to train for a battle on stage with Darth Vader or Kylo Ren!  Let me repeat, THIS IS FREE.

Star Wars fun is around every corner in Hollywood Studios.  There are regular parades throughout the day, and you never know when you might see a stormtrooper patrolling the area.  There is an amazing nightly firework show in Hollywood Studios called Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular.

My kids saved for months to “build their own light saber” in Hollywood Studios!  This only costs 25.00, actually (which is VERY reasonable for a light saber!) and they were able to customize it.  They really loved this, and I was thankful they had the opportunity.

I wanted to also mention on May 28th, 2018 there is going to be a special night at Disney World called Galactic Nights, tickets for this family friendly evening start at 129.00.  It looks like they will have a scavenger hunt, special character experiences, and a sneak peek at the new hotel!

Whatever your family does on your Disneyworld getaway, I hope you relish in the opportunity to imagine and believe.  Of course, I want you to have an out of this world great time!

If you got some good tips from this post, I’d love it if you’d pin this post and help me reach other mamas trying to make their kids Galactic dreams a reality!
