As we attempt to settle back in our home after being away for three months, I decided to jump right in and get organized for the approaching school year. When I’m cleaning and organizing, I like to start with our main rooms. I like the spaces people spend the most time in to be clutter free and clean. However, our kitchen just feels so daunting. Maybe it is just my family, but our kitchen counter collects so much junk. From paperwork, to violins, and since it is the easiest place for kids to reach (they can’t reach the sink and seem unfamiliar to what a trash can is..) it always collects the food they are done with. It can be really hard to try and free up the counter space to help with cooking in the evening. I’d love to have enough space to get something like an air fryer. If you have space then you can read these nuwave 10 qt digital air fryer reviews here to give you an idea of what you can get. Unfortunately for me, what with all the clutter I don’t have enough space at all. DSC_1417I’m sorry to say, but there is absolutely nothing peaceful and serene about that. Creating a home that is peaceful, organized, and easier to maintain is among my top priorities since my recent homemaking renaissance. So, naturally, I headed to Target on a crusade to reclaim my kitchen.

I knew I would need cleaning reinforcements. Scotch-Brite® sponges are generally my “go to.” They’ve got a sponge for virtually every mess. Here’s a round up of the products I used to help me reclaim my kitchen!

DSC_1497DSC_1498Scotch-Brite® Non-Scratch Scrub Sponge This is there blue sponge! It’s renowned for safely and effectively cleaning non-stick surfaces. I love it, because it doesn’t scratch my pans. It is also perfect for the shower tile! Seriously. Try it. DSC_1503Scotch-Brite® Non-Scratch Soap Dispensing Dishwand- another blue sponge favorite. Have you figured out that color is important! Blue is non-scratch and green represents heavy duty! I absolutely love these dishwands. I love being able to control how much dish soap is used. You can press the button to release extra soap for more intensive projects.

I love to wake up to an empty sink, I don’t put a huge amount of pressure on myself to maintain a clean house. I do love a clean sink, though.

On to the green sponge, the Scotch-Brite® Heavy Duty Scrub Sponge. Maybe we are just heavy duty mess makers, but this is my favorite sponge for every room in my house. Seriously, I can use it in the garage, the bathroom, and/ or the kitchen sink. I used it to scrub down my kitchen counter after I finally cleaned it off.. DSC_1489There was so many sticky things on this counter beneath the mounds of papers and other assorted items. Gross, we are kind of gross.

So, I decided to also create a family command center. Since our counter is our family’s dump area, I felt logistically the counter was the place to put it. Here’s what I did.

I added a dry erase menu plan to the fridge!
I put a bulletin board for those random papers. I added a dry erase calendar to use for important dates. With school starting back for my husband and son, things get intense around here. Schedules are important!
I added this little filing system for coupons, bills, and receipts. We save every receipt. It is so helpful when making our budget. Inside this little system, I put a to do notebook in there. So, family members can grab it out and make notes!

My kitchen feels amazingly more organized. Between our new family command center, and the versatility of Scotch-Brite® sponges, it was a simple undertaking! They really do have the right tools for every surface. Right now, you can Save now on Scotch-Brite® Scrub Sponges at Target with this Cartwheel offer!
