The Portland Spirit of the holiday season!

December 28, 2017

Disclosure:  We received complimentary tickets to check out the Portland Spirit for their seasonal Cinnamon Bear Cruise.

Since we moved away from friends and knew we also wouldn’t be seeing family this year, I really wanted to lean in and try to create some special memories in our new home in Portland.  I’d heard all summer about how amazing the Portland Spirit is, but we were never able to make it work for a visit.  So when I realized they offered a seasonal cruise called the “Cinnamon Bear” cruise.  Based on a book that was once read over the radio, the Cinnamon Bear is a cute story with adorable characters.  It is a lengthy cruise on the Williamette River, which is breathtaking.  The kids had an incredible time sipping hot cocoa and enjoying the on board magician and the various story times.  There was even a bunny!

I loved that this was a fun event for every member of our family.  My husband and I visited our favorite elf, “Tipsy.” (the bartender.) and enjoyed the gorgeous views.  It was beginning to get dark as we were heading back and we got to take in the sights of the passing boats decorated in lights for Christmas.  It was a really unique way to get into the spirit for the holidays.

They served some light fare on the cruise as well.  Yogurt, fruit, granola.  My boys viewed this buffet as a challenge.  I think Sawyer had four yogurts on board!  Each kid got a photo and autographs from the characters and really, really enjoyed themselves.

We had a really incredible cruise, and I look forward to going back in the summer with my husband only for a unique date night.
