Real Reasons to Exercise At A Stay At Home Mom.

I've been working out this summer like a mad woman!  I'm loving spin class, HIIT work outs, and the stair climber.  I'm feeling slim, confident, and much stronger.  On the stair climber earlier this week, I was thinking: "Why do I do this to myself?!" and made this list of silly reasons to get fit this summer! As always, the best reason to work out is to get healthier and stronger. Here's some fun inspiration: 1.) So I can fit into…

Creating more joy as a stay at home mom.

I'll be candid here, and tell you sometimes I feel burdened by motherhood.  I try so hard to focus on maintaining peace and joy in my home, but some days I feel burdened.  My kids don't listen, I'm exhausted, my dinner tastes like dirt.  I don't feel joyful and fulfilled.  I actually just feel like looking for full time employment and full time childcare.  Some days, I worry I'm ruining my children.  I even consider the possibility I have already…

Access pass- many states now offer families living within poverty guidelines the option for reduce admissions and memberships.  This is a wonderful thing, if you qualify for it.  Utilize it! Memberships- If you can afford an annual membership, buy it!  It is so worth it, and if possible splurge for the option to bring friends.  We can bring two people with each membership we have, and by doing it every time I'm allowing my friends the opportunity to go somewhere…

The Oregon Zoo

My family had a wonderful time at the Oregon Zoo on Saturday.  We went to their Endangered Spieces day, and it was highly impressive.  The zoo here is outstanding, it's the perfect size.  They have so many opportunities for the kids to get close to the animals.  I felt like we could get close enough, we may actually touch them.  The Oregon Zoo really has some great things in the works right now, they are building a state of the art…

Party Season: Thank you cards!

Parties are wonderful, but a grateful heart is even more wonderful.  From an early age, I want to instill in my children gratitude, appreciation, and kindness.  After each party, I have my children thank guests for their presence and their presents!  Tiny Prints thank you cards, generally corresponding to their birthday party invites, are the perfect way to say thank you.  I'm pretty in love with these cards that facilitate writing, so kids can truly learn how to write thank…

Portland Children’s Museum

We had a really nice first Saturday in Portland over the weekend.  We went to the gym and the littles went to the insanely wonderful play and learn here.  It has this huge play structure, music, tons of toys. They are just really impressed.  I miss our girls at our old gym, they have become friends and I can't wait to see them in three months. I'm relieved the boys are enjoying their new space, and thought the cutest compliment…
