Disclaimer: I was hosted for an advanced screening to check out this movie before it releases to curate this review. All opinions expressed are my own.
One of my favorite stories of all time is Little Women. I’m always so nervous when people turn my beloved favorite books into movies. Will they do it justice? (I’m sure they feel a lot of pressure too.) However, this story, a unique spin that I won’t give away is such a cool variant on this classic book that I’ve read over and over and over.
One thing I’ll comment on is the incredible cast, because that’s no secret! This cast is loaded up with some of the best actresses, and it was so fun to see my beloved Emma Watson play my beloved Meg. I’ve always identified more as Meg than the other sisters, but this movie had me thinking “Am I an Amy?!”
never get tired of this beautiful story of friendship, family, growing up,
creativity, words, disappointments, and finding contentment. The movie beautifully brought to life the scenes
I’ve imagined throughout my life. (I’ve never watched another adaptation of
Little Women; I was too nervous it would ruin it for me!) The videography is breathtaking,
and I found myself emotional throughout several of the scenes.
I usually recommend just waiting to see movies when they come out to rent or purchase, but seeing this one in theaters is absolutely worth it. It tells the story we’ve cherished for so long in a fun, kind of modern way.
