When Ronald McDonald House Charities reached out about partnering together to encourage my readers to donate to their organization this holiday season, it was a no questions asked “yes.” from me.
Most of my first years on earth were spent in some capacity at a hospital, and while I can’t remember the specifics, I know that my time at the Ronald McDonald house was filled with love and compassion.
I have two young sons now and a husband that I couldn’t imagine being apart from anytime, much less the holiday season.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Ronald McDonald house programs they are located near hospitals, so if you have a child in the hospital, you’re able to stay near them. They offer guests delicious home cooked meals, play rooms for children, private rooms, and the best part is that no one is turned for not being able to pay. The suggested donation varies by location, but if that’s too expensive for some those fees are waived.
A few years after my dad passed, we had the opportunity to go visit the kind staff at our local Ronald McDonald House and I had the chance to learn even more about this truly amazing organization. They do incredible things for families who are navigating life’s greatest uncertainties. They bring them hope, laughter, and a sense of family and comfort to families across the world.
I knew that if I was ever in a place to financially contribute to their mission, I would and I’m so happy this year we were able to make a donation.
Won’t you join me? Let’s help create special moments for these families and keep them together throughout the holiday season and beyond.
