I don’t make my kids costumes & I think they’ll still turn out okay.

With each passing holiday, I become more and more aware of the insane pressure us mothers put on ourselves to be the best.  Costumes get more involved, meals are more elaborate, our anxieties rising and rising.  I’m done with it, ya’ll.  My kids are thrilled to be wearing a costume from Oriental Trading this Halloween, and the shopping process took me ten minutes total.  They will have only one costume for the 1-2 Halloween activities we will attend.  I

I am but mortal.  I cannot do everything Pinterest asks of me.  I’m taking the pressure off myself as we head into the holiday season, and I’m praying you will too!

When I was in first grade, my mom didn’t even know it was Halloween month.  She threw together a few pieces of clothing and let me wear makeup, and viola I had a costume for my school party.  I was a “teenager.”  I turned out okay, and I believe my boys will too.

I am giving myself grace, whose with me!?!
