Heading into the new year, one of my biggest goals is to give back more. Just show up, surprise people, really love on the people I can in this season of life. Snap myself out of that “I’m JUST a mom, what can I do?” mindset. Upon learning that Bigelow (this is a cool video sharing more about their brand!) would be celebrating the 75th anniversary of their Constant Comment tea during hot tea month, I decided to make my love on people effort this month, centered around the comfort a cup of tea can bring. Bigelow has long been my #1 tea brand of choice, ever since my best friend told me she does a daily tea time with her son. It became a source of comfort for me to have a cup during nap-time, before the chaos would kick off again in the afternoon.
I decided to piece together a special gift basket for my friend who is a foster mama! The same way a dear friend put together a basket of self care necessities when my youngest son was born. Small items to encourage me to carve out time for myself to rest and recharge, even while in the throws of young motherhood.
I thought it was important to include a sweet note to remind my friend, and remind they are doing a wonderful job! I know as a mother that is one thing I’m always happy to hear. My basket had a very winter theme going on, because I remember feeling like winter was EXTRA rough when the boys were younger. The days are shorter, families spread germs around, but you can definitely tweak this for whatever season you’re gifting.
Some other things to add in along with your tea:
-tissues (I got some in a cute box so they could double as decor!)
-a special mug
-an encouraging printable in a frame (like this one I made for the kitchen sink!)
-fancy hard candies
-smell good soap
-a plant (or artificial one)
-gift card for dinner
-frozen meal (or two!)
I had the opportunity to learn a little more about Bigelow tea, their history and their commitment to high quality when I read this book available here on their website! Tea proudly is Bigelow sharing everything they are proud of that gives consumers the reassurance they are making the right choice and are in the know. (Foil packaging, freshness, US manufacturing, quality tea & ingredients!) You can even order directly from walmart.com, if you’re like me and love to do the Walmart pick up option!
Find it easily in your tea aisle!
