absolutely love football season!  Some people call it fall.  We have two young children, so it isn’t always practical to go to tailgates or football games.  Sometimes it conflicts with naptimes, some days it is too hot or too cold outside.  So, we really love to host “homegates” We make a bunch of snacks, watch the game in our yoga pants, and relax on our couch.  Most of the time we invite friends over, talk “smack” and enjoy one another’s company.  I love to make several dips and finger foods.  Today, I’m sharing two of my favorite “chicken snacks” as my four year old calls them.

dsc_1297I made some simple chicken salad to serve atop our favorite crackers, you know, RITZ.  I just throw some chicken breasts into my stand up mixer and begin adding grapes, carrots, and some nuts if I have some easily accessible.  I like to chill it for a little bit, and then use it as a dip for my crackers.  For game days, I love to have dips so you can eat for the entire duration of the game!

Then, the highlight of the meal, I made some Coca-Cola barbeque chicken in my slow cooker.  dsc_1096I just add some boneless chicken tenderloins into the bottom of the slow cooker, and let it cook for 2.5 hours.

Drained out all of the juices.

Add the Coca-Cola.dsc_1286After that, I added two cups of barbeque sauce.  dsc_1294dsc_1296 dsc_1297 dsc_1303The barbeque chicken is savory and delicious!  Pairs perfectly with the RITZ crackers and a Coca-Cola on ice.  I love to grab my Coca-Cola products at Kroger. You can find your local Kroger store over here.

I truly serve my chicken straight from the slow cooker, then its warm throughout the game.  You can serve it on lettuce, slider buns, by itself or on a cracker!
