Tillamook, Oregon

So, last week while my in laws were in town, we went on an exciting day trip to another Coast City: Tillamook, Oregon. This was the last lengthy day trip, we will be doing while we are here.  We will be driving forty hours (in two cars) in a few weeks, so time to start mentally preparing for that. We had a wonderful day in Tillamook.  Here's the easy breakdown of our day. The Tillamook Cheese Factory- This place was…

Toddler Birthday Must Have: Milestone cards!

So, when these Milestone Cards first became popular on the internet, I was so bummed.  My boys were just out of the stage where they were useful to my family.  I loved this concept, celebrating the little things instead of a generic months post.  Well, they've done it again!  They have created two adorable new sets of cards geared towards your kiddos one-four years old, and they're so adorable! I think these would make an amazing first birthday gift.  My…

So, continuing our Astoria recap and tips, I thought I would share some of the best places we went and some other fun things you might do with your family while you're there. Monday: Setting yourself up for a successful week.

I will never hate Mondays.  I love them. I love the feeling of freshness, a fresh start, shiny, new opportunity. I like to spend time on Monday morning, getting organized, and attempting to set myself up for a successful, productive week of intentional parenting and homemaking. What I'm reading: The Wednesday Daughters.  This is the sequel to The Wednesday Sisters, which I loved so much. What I'm doing with my family: making sun s'mores, painting with trash, reading mouse paint,…

Portland Diaries: Our first fishing trip!

Each Saturday we've been here, we've got to spend wonderful family days together.  We try to explore new places, expose our boys to something new, and experience something new.  Yesterday, we visited Horning's Hideout and it was so wonderful.  You pay 4.00 per person over six, and this includes your fishing gear and a license for the day.  There's no catch and release, you pay 7.00 per pound of fish you catch!  The boys loved fishing for the first time, they…

Our Day Trip To Cannon Beach

With our housing woes, we haven't been able to relax in a while. So, it was nice to take some time to adventure to Cannon Beach, Oregon. It is absolutely breathtaking there, the Haystack Rocks and the other rock structures along the water paired with the fog. It felt like I was sunbathing inside of a portrait. For us, the drive was about an hour and thirty minutes. We stopped at a restaurant on mile marker number 18, creatively named…

At home summer camp: beach week!

This week we are tackling a beach theme in our little at home summer camp. We plan to round out this week with a trip to the beach, so it seemed like an easy and fun theme for the week.  We aren't doing everything on this list, but I thought it would give you some good ideas.  I recommend sandbox play and swimming to accompany these ideas! Celery Stamping Painting (fish) I just pulled some book suggestions from this list!…

PediaSure® Grow & Gain with Fiber

Fruity Creamsicles with PediaSure® Grow & Gain with Fiber

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #2PerDay #CollectiveBias I wanted to kick June off with a fun, summer recipe using PediaSure® Grow & Gain with Fiber!  It's getting warm out here in Oregon, we even went to the splash pad yesterday.  Anyone who has a child whose came below their regular point on a growth curve knows how defeating it can feel.  While it isn't a reflection on your actual parenting,…
