Book Club February 2020: Would Like To Meet!

February 5, 2020

We are so excited to bring you a guide for hosting your own February 2020 book club to read/discuss “Would Like To Meet” by Rachel Winters. We basically googled for a new romantic release and this one piqued our interests, because we both adore romantic comedies. Personally, I was so excited to read it, because it sounded just like the light hearted read I need! I’m actually still working my way through this one, but when I finish I’ll be editing this to also include my review as well. So far, however, I’m adoring it. Put together a Facebook event or an e-invite and get your friends together to discuss. If you can’t host an in person event, join us on 2/19/2020 over on our bookstagram page @bestiesbookshelf where we will be discussing via our virtual monthly book club!

Mrs.Bishop shares her review:

The premise of Would Like to Meet really intrigued me. A nod to my fave romantic comedies? Yes, please! The main character, I really enjoyed- a fun, English girl who keeps messing up. Think any main character in Sophie Kinsella novel… And Ben- what a dreamboat. But, honestly- I was really disappointed with every other character. I feel like the author, maybe to be humorous, made them all a little too quirky? And some of the situations were a little much for me. I wish she would have stuck with the main characters and the funny situations- I would have loved it! But, it’s probably more a solid 3 for me.

Discussion questions:

1) What is your favorite romantic comedy?
2) Do you have a meet cute story?
3) Are you more cynical or more of a romantic? Was there a character that really resonated with you?
4) Discuss the writing style, did you like the way this was written?

Snacks:
This definitely calls for wine champagne, wine, or a sparkling juice
.

Pairing this with Valentine’s month means there is a lot of cute heart shaped snacks around. Head to your local store and shop for a couple romantic feeling snacks, as always keep it simple! Here are a few things I found at Aldi & Trader Joe’s and thought would be perfect for this month’s book club!
