My family had the opportunity to eat at the Bridgewater Bistro in Astoria, Oregon. It was so remarkable. In my opinion, the best meal I’d had in all of Oregon. I’ve had a very difficult time writing this post, to be honest. There are no words to describe the quality of the atmosphere, the taste of the food, the incredible staff. Bridgewater Bistro is one of the amazing restaurants I’ve been in my life. Their venue is breathtaking, but yet you feel comfortable bringing children there. The kids were very impressed with the WikiStix they were given to play with while waiting for their meals to come. The children’s menu has many options, all made with top notch ingredients. I was very pleased to see several gluten free options available for kids. During our time there, my husband were so impressed by the affordability of the restaurant- especially given its beauty and menu options, all made with high quality ingredients. My husband enjoyed the day’s special, a cod sandwich. What a perfect lunch to savor by the ocean. I had the most remarkable sandwich I’ve ever eaten in my life. Served on an English muffin with a special aioli, an open faced crab melt! Liam had a hot dog with fruit and Sawyer had a grilled cheese with fruit. The boys loved the place, and it was perfect for a family of four to enjoy lunch there. My only sadness comes from being unable to go back before we leave Oregon. Ann, one of the owners, was the absolutely sweetest. Not only did she generously give us lunch in exchange for this review, but she also gave me a tour and shared some really fun pieces of history with us. When (not if) you go to Bridgewater Bistro, be sure to check out the photo albums at the front of the store to learn about its rich history and watch the restoration of a mill house come to life. I loved hearing Ann discuss how they built it with her grandchildren in mind. I blog about children and how to experience life alongside them. So, that was music to my ears- knowing kids are loved and welcomed here. It was only an added bonus that the meal was divine. If you visit Astoria for a couples weekend, ladies weekend, or family getway- you simply must eat here! Be sure to follow along on my Oregon Pinterest board for more inside tips on visiting Oregon!
