Vacation + Updates

I just looked at my blog yesterday, and realized it had been nearly ten days since I last posted.  I can't remember a time I've ever gone that long without a blog post.  I have a lot to share with those of you I don't see regularly.  We recently went on vacation to Florida, it was a celebratory trip!  My husband has accepted a post graduate school offer, and we are moving to Portland, Oregon!  We had a wonderful time there…

Celebrate football at home with Coca-Cola!

Disclosure: This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and The Coca-Cola Company. All opinions are mine alone. #GameDayGreats #CollectiveBias absolutely love football season!  Some people call it fall.  We have two young children, so it isn't always practical to go to tailgates or football games.  Sometimes it conflicts with naptimes, some days it is too hot or too cold outside.  So, we really love to host "homegates" We make a bunch of snacks, watch the game in our…

Pumpkin Patch Painting Party.

Tonight, we hosted a casual pumpkin painting party at our local pumpkin patch, Fowler's. It is a completely gorgeous pumpkin patch. They've updated everything on site, including a new gorgeous barn (fall wedding?) and a beautiful shelter with picnic tables where our event was located. The pumpkins are incredibly affordable. There's a play area for kids, and so many scenic photography opportunities. I didn't serve any food, but I did provided apple cider. The pumpkin tablecloths were on clearance last…

How to Meal Prep to Save Money and Eat better!

I've been talking about my weight loss journey, and several of my readers have emailed to ask me to share my tips and tricks.  I can say with great confidence that all of my greatest tips and tricks for living a healthy lifestyle come from my failures or identifying areas I struggle in. My struggles have definitely evolved as I've gone from having a full time job, to one child, to two kids. For this current season of life, my biggest food struggles are…

Savor some MAMA TIME with NEW Starbucks® Caffè Latte K-Cup® Pods!

I received compensation and complimentary products to facilitate my review. #StarbucksCaffeLatte #MyStarbucksatHome #CollectiveBias I have two young children, and I know how tricky it can be to squeeze in a few peaceful moments as a mom.  For me, I feel guilty every time I sit down to enjoy a couple of moments…

Easy peasy chicken salad recipe!

I'm a pretty good cook, if I do say so myself.  I'll be honest with you guys though, I'm very much self taught.  I do not come from a long line of chefs.  However, before Liam was born, I decided I needed to stop eating out and shed some extra weight.  At that point, I really poured myself into cookbooks, cooking shows, Pinterest recipes, etc.  I'm currently in another season of being ready to lose some weight.  I think I'm…

Visit St. Joe, Michigan [our girls weekend guide!]

I basically had the most amazing weekend! Thursday night, my friends watched my boys so I could go to sushi and drinks with my doting husband. It was so wonderful! Friday, I had my mom's group and then I left for mom's weekend away with two of my dearest, dearest friends. Fellow graduate school wives, one of the ladies had an apartment in St. Joe, Michigan from her husband's internship. (You read that correctly. free lodging.) The drive was only…

All opinions are mine alone. #ScoreAtCVS #CollectiveBias   I've said it before, and I'll say it with glee.  We love football and hosting parties in this house, and I welcome any opportunity to combine those two joys are mine.  When hosting football parties (or any party for that matter!) I love to create photo booths or "selfie stations" for my guests.  I think these are so…

Preschool Activities!

I'm talking about things to do with your preschool age kids to keep them busy.  I like to keep my kids busy so they don't argue all day.  I like to leave a lot of their open for playing, but I try to keep more structured activities on deck, too. I try to have something ready for them in the mornings or else they'll just whine and cry to watch television.  The activity above is a crowd favorite.  Just craft…

Sawyer’s Little Bedroom!

Soy Bean has a strangely small bedroom. Or Liam has a huge bedroom... I'm still trying to figure that part out. I love this little bedroom though. It is the bedroom I've snuggled both of my sweet boys in, I guess it is my family's nursery. It is pretty bare these days since Sawyer has been in a toddler bed since he was about fourteen months old. His bed was a hand me down pottery barn bed from his Godmother.…
