My first trip to At Home + living room update!

August 21, 2016

Disclosure:  I received a gift card to visit At Home and share how this store is helping me improve my home!  All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

For as long as we’ve lived in our home here- I haven’t given it the appreciation it deserves.  We live in a rental and I’ve always felt like I shouldn’t invest too much time, money, or energy into our temporary living situation.  I recently had a change of heart and realized there’s nothing wrong with wanting my family’s home to reflect our personalities, support hospitality, or inspire the people living inside of it.  Our house should be our oasis, it should be inviting, it should feel secure, warm, fun, bright, cheerful.

At Home is a home décor superstore, it seemed like the perfect place to start this home redecoration process.  My goal for updating our home’s appearance is to keep everything easily transferred to another house, a reflection of home’s values, and affordable.

At Home didn’t disappoint.  It was absolutely filled with assorted home décor items across a range of price points, but truthfully, very affordable.  The rug I featured below was less than 50.00.  It is a 5 x 7 rug, so it isn’t tiny.  Just beautiful and very affordable. I’ve got another post coming where I’ll share our drastic curtain makeover, but after having such a cute response on my recent photo from the store. I thought I would show you the rug I found, and tell you about my sectional couch makeover.

I’m working on a drop cloth slipcover for my brown couch.  I included a progress photo below!  I’ll definitely be another trip to at home for blue, white, and gray accent pillows in the upcoming weeks.  At Home truly has everything you could need to create your perfect space.  I included some photos from the beautiful store below!  They had me feeling so motivated.  Eventually, I hope to replace my coffee and end tables- so I made a run by the tables area.  I’m so glad I went in there!  After one trip, I’m hooked and can’t wait to go back!  Stay tuned for my upcoming curtain makeover.  DSC_1672 DSC_1674 DSC_1698 DSC_1699 DSC_1702

    1. Thanks for the article! I will have to check them out if they are near me. Like you I am in an apartment and usually check yard sales for decor because I don’t have as much money to spend and limits to how much I can decorate. But I’d love to check out this place.

      1. Yea!!! I love yard sales!! This couch cover cost me 30 bucks to make and has made the biggest difference!! Now I’ve got this new rug that’s really lighting things up in here!!

    1. I just went there for the first time too! I left inspired and overwhelmed at the same time. I need to get back on Pinterest and start over lol.

      1. Oh I totally agree!! Highly recommend making a favorites list on their website lol it helped me!
