March 2019 Reading List!

February 21, 2019

I know so many of us start every year hoping to make reading more of a priority. Summer is an excellent time to make that goal happen, because the days are longer and your kids are outside more. It is a great time to invite friends over for a deck book club evening, or meet up poolside with all your littles and attempt to discuss some great reads. I thought I’d share some book recommendations for the summer (some I’ve read, but some I’m reading!)

Pro Tip: Put them on hold at your library from home, and pick them up next time you’re there. Don’t forget Audible will give you a free one month trial (I love listening to books, if you haven’t done it in a while, give it a second try.) and check your library to see if they offer a digital screening option.

Crazy Rich Asians– With the moving coming out mid summer, I urge ya’ll to read this one. It is sweetly romantic, HILARIOUS, subtly cultural, and beautifully written.

Fresh Off The Boat– You may have heard of the show, but did you know it is based off this hysterically accurate book? I love how books can you give you a whole new perspective and this one does that while simultaneously laughing your ass off. In my opinion, it’s the model book for anyone wanting to know How to write a memoir of their own life experiences. Read all the memoirs you can and look online for advice and top tips on the subject of writing one for yourself.

Digging In- Okay, this is on MY list to read this summer, it looks too cute. I’ve fallen in love with gardening and how therapeutic it can be.

When Life Gives You Lululemons- This is part of the Devil Wears Prada Series! I’m so excited for this one to come out.

An American Marriage– My bestie and Oprah have recommended it so let’s just read it already.

Three Cups Of Tea- So, I started reading this book after buying it at a yard sale for a quarter. I’d seen it all over the internet, but hadn’t been able to get a library copy. WOWOWOWOWOWOW. It is such a beautiful, poetic, book that has me feeling so inspired. READ. IT.

I’m Still Here- a dear friend of mine suggested this book, and I’m waiting for it now at my library (it has over 70 holds so it must be good, ya’ll!) This is another book that I gather will be eye opening and informative.

This Is Me: Chrissy Metz (or Kate from This Is Us!) wrote a memoir, and ya’ll it is hella good. I listened to it back on our trip, and I could relate so much to her. She is funny and kind and I wish we could be real life best friends.

Before We Were Yours- I’m sharing this book because it was my favorite book I read in 2017. I loved every second of it. I intend to read every book Lisa Wingate has ever written in 2018.
