Our Easter Baskets + a 50.00 Incredibundles Gift Card Giveaway!!!

Disclosure:  I received an Incredibundles gift card for myself to make my Easter Basket Selections.  I only promote companies I love on this blog! I am one of those obnoxious people that blows holidays out of proportion.   I've said it on this blog multiple times, my grandmother did it for me and I'm doing it for my kids with no shame.  With that said, when I get my kids presents, I like them to be purposeful and useful.  I…

Speaking Engagement Recap- Kid’s Parties on a budget!

I recently had the opportunity to speak to the mom's group I've been attending for nearly five years.  This was actually my third time speaking to them, but it was extra special to me as it will be my last.  Our move is only eight weeks away now, and it is so bittersweet.  This group of mothers has grown from about forty women when I started attending to almost two hundred mamas.  I have learned so much in my journey…

Preschool Activities!

I'm talking about things to do with your preschool age kids to keep them busy.  I like to keep my kids busy so they don't argue all day.  I like to leave a lot of their open for playing, but I try to keep more structured activities on deck, too. I try to have something ready for them in the mornings or else they'll just whine and cry to watch television.  The activity above is a crowd favorite.  Just craft…

What we are reading this fall + a book giveaway!

I'm astounded that tomorrow is labor day!  Fall is here people, and you know what goes great with a pumpkin spice latte?  A good book. Kids are back in school, so they need some books too.  Dad is busy with school reading, so I've cut him out of this post this year. Here is what I'm reading, have recently read, or want to read before December: One Mom Can Change the World by Amy Lanham & Claudia Mitchell-  I loved this…

What we’ve been up to + packing.

I can hardly believe we are halfway through our final week here.  The summer has flown by!  We have done so much this summer, and we've truly had a blast. We gone to beaches, we've gone fishing, hiking, zoos, and the children's museum.  It's been amazing twelve weeks!   won't lie though, I'm eager to see my friends. I'm ready to have my boys in their own rooms again.  I miss my couch, and all of my cooking supplies.  I miss…

Sawyer’s 2nd birthday

I'm pretty blown away that we celebrated Sawyer's second birthday over the weekend.  How did that happen?  It feels like just a couple of weeks ago, we were in the hospital welcoming him into the world. I'll be sharing the mushy gushy stuff soon, but this morning I'm talking party recap! So, we had a dinosaur pool party theme!  We obviously don't know many people here, but were thrilled that the grandparents could visit and two other families could come. …

I got into a screaming match at a breakfast joint.

I've been agonizing over if I would tell this story on my blog.  I generally try to share everything, but I also didn't want to sound like an advocate for arguing with complete strangers in breakfast establishments.  However, it keeps coming back into my writing time.  This story wants to be told.  On Tuesday, tourist Tuesday, me and my friend with our four kids hit up a popular breakfast restaurant in the city we live in.  Eager for pancakes, our…

20 days of fun!

I've created a list of 20 days of fun activities.  Things to inspire you to have more fun! Be sure to watch out for discount days at your favorite places like the zoo, children's museum, and take advantage of kids being able to bowl for free all summer.

Some of thoughts on Liam..

If you had asked me last year, I would have told you that we were not going to make it adulthood with that one.  I was so confident be was going to a menace to a society.  He was violent, defiant, and he couldn't really talk.  He was overwhelmed easily, seemingly hated other children, and I felt pretty hopeless.  I would binge eat my frustrations every night, and found myself gaining a ton of weight.  (Also blamed him for this.)…
