Disclosure: I received these fun Halloween crafts from Oriental Trading in exchange for a blog post featuring them. I only share brands on my blog that I love and adore! All opinions expressed are my own.
Ya’ll, I tried to be strong and resist the urge to start decorating for Halloween until October. Lord knows, I tried. Then, I walked by a bunch of mini pumpkins at the grocery store and all bets were off. Last year, we painted pumpkins and it the kids loved it. It worked out really well, because we went to the pumpkin patch and I hosted a painting party there. This year, I just could not risk that kind of mess in my rental home. So, I scoured Oriental Trading for their most practical Halloween crafts. I wanted preschooler age appropriate projects that weren’t too messy, practical, and would last years to come. I loved the idea of the kids decorating their pumpkins with stick faces, that was a wonderful fit for them. Just the right amount of work for their attention spans, while yielding large results. We had a little rainy day playdate yesterday and completed these projects before we head into October. I love how they all turned out and none of them took very long!
I loved the “witch way to the candy?” project, because we can use that for years to come. It is a fun little door hanger that I know the boys will love well into their preteen years, when trick or treating loses its appeal.
My kids were most excited for the color your own candy bags. We all know its because they can’t wait to fill it with candy, but I love that they can add their own personal touch to THEIR treat bags.
Lastly, and my favorite, the dated picture frame from Oriental Trading. When I got it, I realized you can actually change the number. So, the boys will have one for the next couple of years or so. Even after we gave several away to friends. Easily of my favorite things about Oriental Trading is the value. You get these crafts already to go in individual packets for a great deal.
What fun Halloween stuff are you working on!?
