Our Frugal Easter Baskets: 2016 edition

Last year I didn't post my Easter basket post until after Easter, and many of you were annoyed with me.  So, hoping my kids don't see this 😂- I'll share some ideas from our budget friend Easter baskets of 2016. As well as make some suggestions for last minute, affordable and healthy, ideas for Easter baskets!  1) don't buy pre made Easter baskets. They are loaded with cheap toys and unhealthy treats. And they're expensive!  2) reuse your Easter baskets…

At the library: books for parents!

I'm going to start sharing some recommended reading on the blog over the next few weeks. I don't advocate for parenting books that will make you feel inadequate, but I do love reading scientifically supported and sensible parenting ideas.  I feel like it's continuing education for the stay at home parent. Ha. There's so much research out there on little people, take advantage of it!!  Hit the library!

My first Bachelor season…

Most Hoosiers were thrilled to see Ben Higgins on the Bachelor.  I was no exception!  I've never watched the Bachelor before this season, but Ben feels like a cousin or something.  So, for ten-ish weeks, I've followed along while he found love.  It is certainly great television, but I'm too cynical for it.  I couldn't handle the fancy dates.  I just kept thinking these dates and "challenges" are not setting them up for success.  Get them a couple projects from Ikea,…

Elephant and Piggie Activity Round Up!

My family is getting excited for the upcoming Cardinal Stage Company  Elephant and Piggie play!  We haven't decided if we will go to the full play yet, but I know I'll be taking my little Gerald and Piggie fan to visit them at the library! There's also going to be a preview play at the Monroe County Public Library, as part of their First Theater experiences.  In my experience, this is great for the younger crowd!  As we gear up, we…

Don’t compare, appreciate.

I hear a lot about comparison. Specifically, women comparing themselves to other women.  I'm looking at you, moms. I have locked down my comparison guilt. I've completely shut it down, I don't even let myself go there. If I do go there, you should check on me. I'm probably feeling blue about something. You see, when Liam was a baby. I struggled with comparison guilt a lot. My friends LOVED to nurse their babies. I literally hated it for the…

An E Book Preview..

I know I've been quiet on blog lately, because I've devoting every free moment (which is rare.) to working on my ebook.  So, in the spirit of making sure you know you still matter to me and I love you.  I'm sharing the intro into my e book! I've been working on something for you, just not my blog.  The good news is that I'm done, the cover is perfect, and my heart is typed up in roughly 200 pages.  I…

The sun is my muse..

For the past few days, I've been feeling the weight of winter lifting off my shoulders.  The sun is beaming, which means I am too.  I love sunshine, chirping birds, and getting outside with my high energy nuggets.  Spring is looking very exciting for me, a new e book coming out and a cross country trip to Oregon!  What are you looking forward toward this spring?
