Our stay at Key Lime Cove in Gurnie, IL!

Disclaimer:  In exchange for this review, I received a complimentary night stay and a media rate for one evening.  All opinions expressed are my own! The last time we visited the Great Lakes Naval Base, we passed by the Key Lime Cove indoor park and I declared we would spend the night there at least once before we moved so far away.  We were able to stay in a deluxe queen stateroom, which sleeps six between two queen beds and…

Baby Cubby- not just for babies! Amazing Educational Toys!

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary gift card to choose products to test.  All opinions expressed are my own. I am so thrilled to have recently discovered Baby Cubby!  I originally ignored what they were doing, because I'm out of the baby stage.  However, once I got on their site I was surprised to see they do way more than *just* baby items.  Since I started formally homeschooling my kids, especially Liam, last week.  I wanted to focus on things that…

We are moving in 16 weeks + other life updates.

Disclaimer:  I received a complimentary Dock a Tot in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own. It just occurred to me we are moving in 16 weeks!  Seriously,  I don't know where the last five months have gone.  We are beginning to purge through our belongings and truly evaluate what we want to transport across the country.  It all feels really surreal!  2017 is off to a fabulous start in our house. My husband is wrapping…

Our New Homeschool Adventure!

Liam is almost four and half now, and we are beginning to consider our school options for next year.  He goes to the most amazing preschool program now, they've sat the bar far too high.  We just love it!  Liam is also an August birthday, which is a struggle I was not prepared for.  The cut off for school is September 1 in some places and August 1 in other places.  Will we send him to Kindergarten?  Will we hold…

Belated Merry Christmas!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  It is probably no mystery to my readers that I adore the Christmas season. I take great pleasure in decorating my house, creating and receiving family holiday cards, and savoring the stillness of a dreary winter day serving as a backdrop to a beautiful illuminated Christmas tree.  My heart was swelling out of my chest as I listened to my four year old discover the gifts under the tree on Christmas morning. It feels beyond cliché…

Meal Plan Monday

Our family arrives on Wednesday!  I'm so excited to see them.  I'm keeping our meals light and easy this week so we can focus on eating together, rather than the stress of meal preparation and planning! On Wednesday, we have to drive an hour to pick up our family.  So, I'm going to throw my favorite soup into the slow cooker.  It'll be warm and ready for us when we return home. Thursday- we will be celebrating my husband's post…

Our trip to Jingle Rails!

Disclosure:  We received complimentary admission to review our experience at Eiteljorg Museum and their Jingle Rails exhibit. Sawyer loves trains so much.  I couldn't wait to take him to the Jingle Rails exhibit at the Indianapolis Eiteljorg Museum.  The museum itself was a little mature for my loud, active two little boys.  There was some interactive parts downstairs for the boys, which we were really fun.  They went along perfectly with pioneer books we've been reading as we head into…

My review of Oliver! By Cardinal Stage Company!

Disclosure:   I received two complimentary tickets in exchange for a honest review!  All opinions expressed are my own. I had the chance to watch Oliver! yesterday, and it was absolutely amazing.  Cardinal Stage Company always does an amazing job!  This was by far my favorite production they've ever done.  I was mesmerized by the children in this play, they did such a wonderful job.  Such talent in such small people, it was remarkable.  I remember reading, Oliver Twist when I was…

“But it’s not like the pictures”.. a Christmas lesson

Yesterday, the boys and I made a gingerbread house while my husband worked out.  We just bought one of those box kits and got to work.  When I was growing up, I always wanted to build a huge gingerbread house. The super fancy kind with elaborate details, a gingerbread family about the house, and I wanted it to be homemade.  However, there was not a single year that we build a gingerbread house while I lived at home.  Naturally, one thing I was…
